When Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon share a stage to keep humans in charge of AI, that is news. It is not a substitute for policy. Unusual agreement is not a governing plan.
A freeze that only America honors is a gift to every rival that will not pause. Blind acceleration is not leadership either. Public boards, treaties, and slogans all still have to pass the test: protect Americans, preserve innovation, keep humans accountable.
American AI Safeguards will apply that standard in public, to the legislation that actually moves.
