AI safety takes center stage at Dreamforce in San Francisco
Dreamforce put AI safety on the main stage. A conference is not a statute—Congress still has to write rules that work.
When Salesforce, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Nvidia argue about safety at Dreamforce, that is news. It is not a substitute for policy. Stagecraft is not a governing plan.
Slowing down, regulating, and “no new laws” cannot all be the policy. America still has to lead—and keep humans accountable. A pause that only America honors is a gift to every rival that will not pause. Blind acceleration is not leadership either.
American AI Safeguards will keep the debate on evaluation, cybersecurity, and meaningful human accountability—so a San Francisco conference is not the whole argument.
